In Fortnite’s lore, the Zero Point is the origin of everything, placing the Battle Royale island at the center of every multiverse, including realms from DC, Marvel, Star Wars, Street Fighter, and beyond. This concept serves as a convenient justification for any crossover Fortnite might introduce. The Zero Point connects to every corner of the multiverse, allowing the creation of portals, which makes Reality Zero a strategically important location.
The island was discovered by a sinister organization known as “The Imagined Order,” a group of mad scientists, including Dr. Slone and Genos, who operate under various aliases. They created and manipulated a 20-minute time loop, known as “The Loop,” abducting individuals from other dimensions to fight within it. This allows the Imagined Order to study their combat abilities. The last fighter standing breaks free from The Loop but remains trapped on the island, leaving behind time-paradox versions of themselves known as “Snapshots,” explaining the existence of multiple versions of some Fortnite skins due to the repeated looping and alternate timelines.
Opposing the Imagined Order is a group of heroes called “The Seven,” who aim to protect the Zero Point from those who would misuse its power. However, many of their members are either dead or missing in action. Beyond these key players, the island is also home to various other factions, both good and evil. Notably, there’s “The Last Reality,” an army of alien invaders bent on eradicating all other realities until they become the only one. Other factions include “The Nothing,” the “Peace Syndicate,” and the “Fox Clan,” among others, though their significance ranges from major threats to background entities.
